If you're building a shipping container home, you have probably considered insulating your walls. There are many ways to do this, but the best way is with closed cell polyurethane spray foam insulation.
Polyurethane spray foam is the most efficient insulation option. It offers the highest insulation value available, approximately R-6 per inch. The spray foam will completely cover the surface of the shipping container walls. This results in no gaps between the insulation and the walls (as there are with fiberglass or polystyrene panels). There is little risk of condensation or moisture developing in the container when closed cell spray foam is used.
Insulating a shipping container home is one of the most difficult parts of constructing a tiny house. If you're building a small structure out of multiple shipping containers, there's no problem—you'll have plenty of space to work with. But if you're hoping to make a single or double-container home, you'll need to get creative with your insulation. Polyurethane spray foam is the perfect solution to this problem.
